Veterans of Mykolayiv region to get cash aid ahead of Victory Day


May 1, 2010 KYIV, May (UKRINFORM). War veterans of Mykolayiv region (southern Ukraine) will get at UAH 600 of one-time cash aid on the occasion of two dates - the 65th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (World War II) and the 66th Anniversary of Ukraine's Liberation from Nazi Invaders, local authorities have decided. All payments will be made through the regional budget. According to chief of Labour and Social Protection Department at Mykolayiv Regional State Administration, Olha Syvoplyas, payments will be made in two stages - at UAH 300 by each date. Today, there are 2,973 veterans of the Great Patriotic War living in Mykolayiv. This year, the same assistance will be given to 79 participants in the War against Japan. In addition, one-time cash aid will go to the families of the killed and disabled of the War in Afghanistan - at UAH 1,000.
