The scientific seminar dedicated to the memory of Ivan Pavlovsky, the founder of the Poltava Battle Museum has taken place in Poltava. Many local historians including museums’ research workers were among those who honored the seminar with their presence. The theme of the Seminar was "The celebration of the 200th anniversary (1909) and the 300th anniversary (2009) of the Battle of Poltava." The participants got a opportunity to become familiar with a few unique documents dated after early 20th century that shed light on the preparation and celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Poltava. The emperor Nikolaj II and his whole court arrived to Poltava soon after the official visit to Stockholm and this fact is predetermined additional security measures have been taken to enhance the safety of all participants of the celebration. As is generally known, this visit of the Russian Emperor to Stockholm was darkened by  the attempt of the assassination of Nikolaj II that took place in Kungsträdgården on June 26, 1909.
