December
7, 2017 (112.international) The main fir tree of
Ukraine was cut down on December 2 in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
It was very difficult to deliver a tree due to the snowfalls in
the Western Ukraine.
“Our
green beauty has been delivered in Kyiv. It was a long, touching and
magical journey. Thanks to everyone who accompanied the New Year tree
to the capital and cared about its safety," reads a city
council's report.
Earlier,
it was reported that the Christmas tree will be delivered to Kyiv on
the morning of December 4, then December 5. However, due to the large
size of the tree and snowy roads in the western regions, the
transportation of the tree was delayed.
Earlier
it was reported that the Christmas tree will be installed on the
St. Sophia square and Christmas lights will
be switched on by the St. Nicholas Day, December 19.
