Three manned BMD-2 vehicles have been successfully paradropped for the first time

BMD-2 airborne infantry fighting vehicles together with crews (commander, driver, gunner, and bow machine gunner) have been dropped on parachutes by strategic airlifter IL-76, for the first time in the history of Russian Airborne Forces during the command and stuff exercise of the 76th Airborne Division that have taken place recently in Pskov region. All vehicles were equipped with AT-4 "Spigot" wire-guided anti-tank missiles. During the paradropping a new parachute system has been tested.
