August 22, 2018 (Interfax-Ukraine) A military parade will take place in Kyiv on
the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day on August 24. It is indicated in the
plan of action on preparations for the celebration of the 27th anniversary of
the country’s independence and the 100th anniversary of the revival of
Ukrainian statehood. Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers approved the plan on August
17.

The document states that troops will march along
Khreschatyk Street and across Independence Square in Kyiv on August 24. The
parade will also include a fly-over of military aircraft and a demonstration of
weapons and military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and other military
units on Kyiv’s Mykhailivska Square. The plan also envisages a few other
festive events to mark the Independence Day.
